We've received numerous tips about the equipment that's been stolen from the Pyramid. Some of this equipment was so large that it would take a crew to disassemble and move. There were also signed pictures of concerts stolen that we suspect are hanging in someone's office or home. A few of the items taken:

$4 to 5 Million of Food Equipment, 4 TV's, Skybox/Office Furniture, Signed Photos, the Basketball floor

The Commercial Appeal estimates $1 million worth of missing contents.

Amount the Pyramid has cost us:

The pyramid debt counter is an estimate of five hundred thousand per month taking into account principle and interest loan payments, maintenance, utilities, security, and landscaping.

It appears as though the city has "taken the bait" and thrown all their eggs into the Bass Pro basket. However, the citizens are still not fully convinced and we would like to make sure you have all the facts during this entire process. We've received detailed documents about the plans of Bass Pro and we've also done a fair bit of research into other projects across the nation. How much is this thing really going to cost us? And, How long do we expect it to last... 8 years... 10 years.... 14 years? You'd be surprised with what you can find just by scratching the surface. Something smells a little fishy and it ain't grandma's leftovers.

The County Commission has elected to push back its vote on selling the Pyramid, the Liberty Bowl, and the Coliseum to the City. However, we will keep you up to date on the latest information regarding this proposal. Again, please let your voice be heard and hope that they make the best decision for the citizens.

Let's bring honesty and integrity to this process. I applaud the efforts to open this process to the public and to ensure that a fair solution to the problem of what to do with the Pyramid and market drivien compensation is received for the Pyramid.

It's ridiculous that this building has gone unused. How can our political officials can sit back, making the money that they do, some of them not even doing their part to uphold the integrity of our city (e.g. not paying taxes, even asking for raises), and not be proactive in resolving one of the cities biggest monetary blackholes. This building has potential. Someone needs to unlock it.

I completely agree with you BEN that something needs to be done with the pyramid. the whole Bass Pro deal was a pathetic joke. I agree with you that we should hire a realty company to sell the building. FORGET BASS PRO. and especially FORGET DSG capital realty group(or whatever name they are using this time.
